Privacy Policy

This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use GreenSlot. It is intended to comply with Canada's PIPEDA and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

Account information: name, email, password (stored hashed), and for Contractors: business name, phone, service area, services offered.

Service & booking information: service addresses, slot details, job dates, completion photos.

Payment information: processed by Stripe. We receive limited details (e.g., subscription status, payout status); we do not store full card numbers.

Insurance acknowledgment: Contractors' confirmation of CGL coverage.

Technical data: log data, device/browser info, and cookies used to operate and secure the service.

To create and manage accounts; to facilitate bookings between Homeowners and Contractors; to process subscriptions, the $3.99 booking fee, and payouts via Stripe; to send transactional notifications (e.g., booking confirmations) via our email provider; to provide support; to maintain security and prevent fraud; and to comply with legal obligations.

Between users as needed for a booking: a Homeowner's service address and contact details are shared with the confirmed Contractor, and vice versa, only as necessary to perform the job.

Service providers (processors): Stripe (payments/payouts), Supabase (database/auth/storage), Resend (transactional email), Vercel (hosting). They process data on our behalf under their terms.

Legal: when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.

We do not sell personal information.

Some service providers process data outside Canada (e.g., in the United States). Where data is processed abroad, it may be accessible to foreign authorities under their laws. By using GreenSlot you consent to this processing.

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it.

Subject to law, you may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and withdraw consent (which may limit the service). Contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timeframes required by PIPEDA/PIPA.

We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, hashed passwords). No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We use cookies necessary to run the service (e.g., authentication/session) and privacy-friendly analytics to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser.

GreenSlot is not directed to anyone under 19 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

We may update this policy; material changes will be communicated and take effect on the stated date.
