For Homeowners
How does booking work?
Pick your area and service, choose an available time slot from a local contractor, enter your address, and pay. The contractor is confirmed once your payment clears, and you'll get a confirmation email.
What is the $3.99 management fee?
It's a flat fee added at checkout that keeps GreenSlot running. The rest of what you pay is the contractor's price for the job, which they set.
How do I pay?
Securely by card through Stripe at checkout. GreenSlot never sees or stores your full card number.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes. Go to My Bookings and cancel a booking that hasn't been completed yet. Eligible cancellations are refunded to your original payment method.
What if the contractor doesn't show up?
Cancel the booking from My Bookings for a refund, and let us know at support@greenslot.ca. Contractors are independent businesses, so the work itself is arranged directly with them.
Who sees my address?
Only the confirmed contractor, and only so they can do the job. See our Privacy Policy for details.
For Contractors
How much does it cost to join?
There's a 30-day free trial, then a flat CAD $39.99/month. No commission on your jobs — you keep your full price minus Stripe's processing fee. Cancel anytime before the trial ends at no charge.
How and when do I get paid?
Payouts go directly to your bank through Stripe Connect. You'll complete a one-time Stripe onboarding to connect your bank. Stripe handles the payout schedule to your account.
Do I need insurance?
Yes — you confirm you carry valid Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance when you sign up, and you're responsible for any damage or injury during a job. We may ask for proof.
How do I post availability?
In your dashboard under My Slots, add a slot with the date, time window, city, service, and your flat price, then publish it. It appears instantly in the marketplace.
Can I edit or delete a slot?
Yes — on the My Slots list, use Edit or Delete on any slot that hasn't been booked yet. Booked slots are locked so a confirmed job isn't affected.
What happens when someone books?
The job appears in your Jobs tab and you get an email. When you finish, mark it complete and upload a photo.
